When you’re watching a channel or show, you may notice a pause or a blip when the TV screen goes blank.
This is due to the way the Roku video app handles video data.
If this is happening, it’s because Roku has turned off video compression.
If video data is compressed to the point where it becomes unusable, the Roku user interface will not be displayed, and no content will play.
If Roku is able to decode video content, it will show a progress bar at the bottom of the screen indicating when the video has finished transcoding.
To fix this issue, go to Settings and turn on video compression in the Roku Video app.
The only thing left to do when you’re finished watching your favorite TV shows and channels is to return to your Roku home menu and select “View all.”
This will bring up a list with all of Roku’s streaming services.
To quickly go back to your home screen and start watching your content, just swipe to the left of the Roku icon and tap on it.
To stop watching a show or show segment at any time, simply swipe to your left and tap the TV button.
You should now be able watch content without paying anything for your subscription.
